These are the words of Jesus. “The time has come. The kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the good news!”

The Gospel is an opportunity to be saved from our sins. In the words of Jesus, “The time has come.” That opportunity to be forgiven of our sins is now. Now is the time to come to Jesus for salvation. Now is the time to turn away from those things that hinder our relationship with God. Now is the time to open our heart to the good news of God’s love. Second Corinthians 6:2 says, “Now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.”

When we turn on our television screens, the news of the day can be alarming, depressing, and down-right frightening. This is the kind of thing that happens when people reject the good news that Jesus offers. The remedy for the bad news of the world is the good news of Jesus. His Kingdom is not of this world, and His values take a much different shape too. Romans 14:17 says that the "Kingdom of God is a matter of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.”

Today’s Lesson of Faith - Jesus is good news for the soul when we repent and believe in Him.
