We ask ourselves, who are we to be brilliant, beautiful, talented,& fabulous...who are we not to be
Today’s Lesson of Faith comes from First Timothy 4:7 - 8
“Train yourself to be godly. For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.”
As we look at athletes who excel in their sports, we see the evidence of gifted talent, hard work, discipline, and proper training. Are there spiritual principles that we can learn from an athlete?
With eyes of faith, we see the Bible as a reliable training manual to prepare us for the mission God has for us. As we apply the words of the Bible into our lives, God’s Word trains us in the way of righteousness. Prayer also paves the way for God’s will to be accomplished in our lives as well. Along with prayer and Bible Study, fellowship also equips us for doing God’s will because Christianity is often a team mission. We will often work with others to spread the Good News of Jesus. Then, comes the exercise of our spiritual gifts with the power of the Holy Spirit. The expression of these gifts for God’s glory will not only meet immediate needs, but will have eternal value as well.
Today’s Lesson of Faith - Physical training has some value. Spiritual training has greater value.
