Well, yesterday I was supposed to have my parent-teacher conference for my little one at 8am. Around 6:30am my phone rings, luckily Aria is awake since her bus comes at 7am and she answered. It was Callie's teacher calling to cancel because he was home with a sick kid of his own.
Today I went to the school to be a witness as they try and break the world record for similtaneously reading something. Today being Lincolns birthday Lincoln's Presidential Library set this up for a similataneous reading of the Gettysburg Address. South Hanover Elementary added a little over 200 to other people reading it across the country this morning.
Luckily afterward Callie's class had library so Mr Rossi and I did her parent-teacher conference. It went really well. He is going to help me get officially diagnosed (well tested, but he agrees with me that it will most likely lead to diagnosis) for dyslexia and I voiced my concerns for 6th grade. She will be switching teachers which means it will be more difficult for them to see who she really is. So we want to make sure she is placed coreectly and that she has a good working IEP in place as well.
All in all everything went really well.
Course, then I had to drive by the middle school to drop off paperwork that Aria left this morning and that had to be in today since they are off tomorrow...
